Corporate Social Responsibility


Booth FM is committed to creating meaningful measurable social value through the way we operate procure and deliver facilities management services. As an SME we recognise our responsibility to support the communities we work in, reduce environmental impact and contribute to local economic resilience.


Our approach focuses on practical actions that benefit people strengthen local supply chains and protect the environment, while aligning with client expectations and national social value frameworks.


Our objectives are clear evidence-based and aligned with our operational capacity. As an SME we want to:


  1. Deliver a minimum of 16 hours of employee volunteering annually to support local community projects
  2. Increase local procurement spending, prioritising SME social enterprises and ethical suppliers, where possibe
  3. Support the training and development opportunities of 1 work placement  / apprenticeship per year in conjunction with our supply chain to improve skills in the workforce


Implementation plan

Our actions will include:


  1. Organised community initiatives, charity partnerships and volunteering days
  2. Create efficiency initiatives with clients such as LED upgrades, smart controls and ensuring sourcing from social enterprises and ethical suppliers
  3. Awareness campaigns in developing pathways and skills development in FM and business support roles 


Roles and responsibilities

As an SME the Managing Director (J Booth) has overall accountability for policy delivery and resource allocation. J Booth will coordinate initiatives, track progress and report outcomes.


It will be the responsibility of the site managers to implement actions at site level in line with our Supplier Code of Conduct and this policy. 


Monitoring and reporting

We track progress using clear metrics and transparent reporting:


  • number of volunteering hours delivered 
  • percentage of spend with local and ethical suppliers
  • number of placements, training hours and any qualifications achieved within the supply chain
  • well-being indicators through supplier feedback


Reporting will be shared through quarterly internal updates and an annual social value report available to clients and stakeholders.


We will include examples of successful initiatives to demonstrate our ability to deliver social value, such as:

  • supporting local suppliers in providing FM work placements
  • energy saving projects that reduce client costs and carbon emissions 
  • support for local charities through fundraising and volunteering.


Case studies will be updated as required to reflect ongoing achievements.


Engaging stakeholders

We will provide training to ensure everyone understands their role in delivering social value.


We will encourage workshops and toolbox talks to gather ideas such as supplier led initiatives and volunteering suggestions.


We will consult with community groups and local authorities / industry bodies.


We will collaborate with clients to align social value goals with contract requirements, engage suppliers to promote ethical, sustainable and local procurement.


Promoting the policy

To ensure the policy is widely understood and accessible it will be:


  • Published on our website and shared with clients
  • Commitments will be made in tender submissions and contract reviews
  • Communicated through social media and annual reporting


This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains relevant, ambitious and aligned with evolving social value standards and client expectations.
